Senior iOS Engineer
Ship SwiftUI that holds up in production.

Own features from the first Figma frame to the App Store, on client apps and on the products we build ourselves. You get modern SwiftUI work, real ownership, and a small senior team that trusts you to make the calls.

The role

Real products.
Real ownership.

Wireside is a small UK software studio. We partner with companies to build their iOS products, and we build apps of our own. As a Senior iOS Engineer you'll join a client's team on one engagement and help build a Wireside product on the next.

Whatever the project, the standard is the same: polished SwiftUI apps, built to last, shipped to the App Store with care. You'll often be joining an established product, so we're looking for someone who brings good judgement as well as speed.

What you'll do

Your day
to day

  • Own features end to end. Take designs from Figma to a polished, shipped experience in the hands of real users.
  • Build beautiful, faithful UI. Bring designs to life in SwiftUI with attention to detail, accessibility and every state a screen can be in.
  • Write code that lasts. Keep codebases clean, modular and easy for the next engineer to pick up.
  • Connect apps to the real world. Build reliable networking, authentication and real-time features that hold up in production.
  • Test as you build. Ship features with the tests that keep them working.
  • Ship with confidence. Take work through TestFlight and App Store release, and keep an eye on how it performs after launch.
  • Collaborate closely. Work with designers and backend engineers to shape features, even when the details are still being worked out.
What you'll bring

You've done
this before

  • A track record of shipping production iOS apps in SwiftUI, and the confidence to own a feature independently.
  • Strong Swift skills, including modern concurrency (async/await and actors).
  • Experience working in modular, well-structured codebases.
  • Solid networking fundamentals, with loading and error states that users actually understand.
  • An eye for design fidelity: you can turn a design file into a pixel-perfect screen.
  • Testing as a habit. You write tests for the code you add.
  • Clear written communication. You're comfortable working remotely with designers, engineers and clients.
Bonus points

Nice to have,
not required

Don't tick every box? Apply anyway. These are pluses, not filters.

  • Real-time or streaming UIs
  • Authentication & Sign in with Apple
  • Maps & location
  • Push notifications & analytics
  • Xcode Cloud & TestFlight
  • Accessibility in SwiftUI
Why Wireside

What you
get from us

Ownership, not tickets

You own features across every layer, from the design hand-off to the release, and your judgement is trusted.

A modern stack

Native SwiftUI work on modern, well-structured codebases, for clients and for our own products.

Variety with consistency

Client products and our own apps, all built to the same architecture, so the work changes and the standard doesn't.

Remote, senior team

Fully remote, with a direct line to the people making decisions. No layers of management between you and the work.

Hiring process

Simple, fast,
respectful of your time

  1. Apply

Send your CV and a short note about an app you've shipped. Takes about ten minutes.

  2. Intro call

A short conversation about your experience, what you're looking for, and how we work.

  3. Technical deep-dive

Walk us through real code or a design-to-code sample you're proud of. No whiteboard puzzles, no unpaid take-home projects.

  4. Agree the engagement

We agree rate, duration and start date, then get you set up on your first assignment.

Apply

Show us
what you've shipped

We care more about what you've built than how polished your CV looks. In your note, tell us about a production SwiftUI app you owned. Then pick one moment where you had to keep something intact under pressure:

  • A module boundary someone wanted to cut across
  • A streaming or networking edge case
  • A design-system constraint you held
